Lara GlenumLecturer in Poetry

Lara Glenum is the author of six poetry collections, including Snow (Action Books, 2024), Pop Corpse (Action Books, 2014), and the forthcoming My Villain Era (Changes Press, 2026). She is also the co-editor of Gurlesque, an anthology of contemporary women's poetry and visual art (Saturnalia Books, 2010), which Ms. magazine calls “a daring, juicy read that bodes well for a new popular feminist poetics.”

She has been the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship and an NEA Translation Grant. She received her MFA from UVA and her PhD in English (with creative dissertation) from UGA.

Her poems and essays have appeared in numerous journals—including Fence, Conjunctions, Tarpaulin Sky, Fanzine, Pleiades, and The Poetry Foundation. Her work has appeared in The Best American Poetry and has been translated into Swedish, Spanish, and Quechua.

Glenum was previously an Associate Professor of English at LSU, where she taught creative writing and hybrid critical/creative classes in the MFA and Honors programs.

Her teaching interests include poetry writing, twentieth- and twenty-first century poetry and poetics, translation studies, fairy tales, hybrid genres, transmedia writing, and literature and visual art.
