Open Mic Night
Started in Spring 2022 by Klaire Mason (25C) and Natalie McGrath (23C), Emory’s Creative Writing Open Mic Night set out to become Emory’s first community event aimed to celebrate the campus’ diverse and large creative community and has had a large number of attendees. The Open Mic has hosted readings in a range of genres – poetry, fiction, nonfiction, dramatic writing, and stand-up comedy – from Creative Writing majors and non-majors alike.
The Open Mic was mentioned on Emory Wheel’s Clifton Culture podcast and has been praised for bringing the writing community at Emory together in new ways. We extend our gratitude to Nora Lewis and the Creative Writing Program for their generous support in making our events possible.
The Creative Writing Open Mic is a new tradition at Emory that continues to grow. Please contact director Klaire Mason with any questions about our events.
