Elyce Strong MannLecturer in Screenwriting
For the last three decades, Elyce Strong Mann has worked in news, online media, scripted television and independent film. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University, a Masters in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California, and a BA in English from Spelman College. She worked on the ABC Family show, Lincoln Heights and wrote multiple episodes. She has produced many short films including her award-winning directorial debut, Amber & Andre, which she also wrote.
While teaching at Spelman College, Elyce helped to resurrect Spelman’s defunct literary journal, Aunt Chloe: A Journal of Artful Candor and establish its online format. She served as its co-advisor for five years and continues to work as a contributing editor. Currently, she is an in-house producer with an independent production company. In addition to developing projects for film and TV, she also writes short stories, essays, and is presently adapting a novel into a screenplay.
